Pengenalan Teknologi dan Literasi Digital Bagi Siswa SD Negeri 08 Padang Cermin
Abstract
The rapid advancement of information technology demands digital literacy skills from an early age, including at the elementary school level. However, access and understanding of technology remain limited in non-urban areas such as SD Negeri 08 Padang Cermin. This community engagement program aims to introduce basic computer science concepts and digital literacy to fourth and fifth-grade students through a participatory-educational approach. The implementation involved initial observation, development of engaging learning materials, and hands-on assistance in operating computer devices and basic applications such as Microsoft Word. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ understanding of hardware, software, digital ethics, and responsible technology use. The program also encouraged active involvement from teachers and parents in supporting technology-based learning. This initiative demonstrates that early digital literacy intervention can serve as a strong foundation for preparing a generation that is adaptive to the demands of the digital era.
